Umbrella Canopy Tilting Issues?Updated 5 hours ago
Adjusting the canopy angle allows you to get the perfect shade. If you're having trouble with the tilt function, let's look at the Canopy Glide Handle (E3).
Understanding the Tilt Mechanism
Most of our cantilever umbrellas use a Canopy Glide Handle (E3) that requires you to:
- Squeeze or activate the release grip/trigger on the handle.
- While the grip is squeezed/activated, slide the handle up or down the main pole to the desired angle.
- Release the grip/trigger completely to lock the canopy frame in place.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Full Engagement: Ensure you are fully squeezing the grip or activating the release trigger. A partial squeeze may not disengage the lock properly.
- Clear Path: Check the main pole's track where the glide handle moves. Is there any dirt, debris, or damage obstructing its path?
- Don't Force: If it's difficult to move, re-check that the lock is fully disengaged. Forcing it can damage the mechanism.
- Locking Securely: When you release the grip/trigger, ensure it audibly or physically clicks or locks back into place. If it slides down after releasing, the locking mechanism might not be engaging.
